PHF has been educating today's youth about Punjabi Virsa since 2009 and has trained over 1000 individuals in various Punjabi folk dances and instruments. Our team consists of extremely dedicated and talented individuals who make your journey with us a memorable one. We provide warm, supportive, and fun-filled environments for you and your children while incorporating effective team-building exercises. We teach children ages 4 and up in: GIDHA, BHANGRA, JHUMMER, LUDDI, SAMMI, MALWAI GIDHA, DHAMAAL, AND FITNESS CLASSES. Bhangra is an energetic, folk dance and music form that originated from Punjab, India. Today, it’s the newest dance, music, and fitness phenomenon spreading all over the world. Bhangra has made its way to America’s Got Talent, the London Olympics, and even the White House.
Sammi Dance is one of the famous folk dances of Punjab. This dance is performed by Punjab's ancestral networks. Ladies of Punjab play out this hit the dance floor with gay leave and energy. This dance form originated from Punjab’s Sandalbar area. This area is today located in Pakistan. Women belonging to Punjab tribes like Rai, Baazigar, Lobana, and Sansi perform this dance. As the legend goes, this dance was performed originally by Marwad’s Princess Sammi showing her emotions when she separated from Rajasthan’s Rajkumar Suchkumar. Women performers wear lehengas that are full flowing skirts and brightly colored kurtas. This traditional folk dance performed by the women of Punjab enchants audiences. Their controlled energy, graceful moves, and colorfully bedecked ensure this dance to be one of the most admired dance forms in Punjab. Ancient mythology associated with this dance further enhances its popularity. Like drunken souls, they dance in a ring. Watching this dance makes people wonder about the grace and elegance of women. Moreover, this folk dance speaks volumes about the erstwhile era.
